Crablake Farm is lucky to be situated in one of the most picturesque rural areas in the country. It is not only close to the major city of Exeter with all the benefits of a large modern city but it is also close to outstanding beaches and countryside so suiting the whole family.

Attractions
Crealy Adventure Park - An award winning attraction that will fill an entire day. Ideal for children of all ages (7 miles)
Dartmoor National Park - A National Park since 1951, Dartmoor extends to some 368 square miles, famous for it's rugged scenery, ponies and Tors. Loads for everyone to see and do! (10 - 40 miles)
Powderham Castle - The local stately home that is open to the public. Various events through the summer including jousting and large scale concerts, both pop and classical. Excellent butcher included with country store. (1 mile)
RSPB Exe Estuary Cruises - Join an RSPB Exe Estuary bird cruise and see spectacular wildlife in the company of experts.
The Exe is internationally important for its birds, with up to 25,000 wildfowl and wading birds flocking to the estuary. (1 mile)
Babbacombe Model Village - Literally 100's of 1/12 scale models set in award winning gardens, great for all ages. (19 miles)
Paignton Zoo - As featured on BBC1, a wonderful zoo aimed at conservation. (22 Miles)
Paignton Steam Railway - steam trains running for seven miles in Great Western tradition along the spectacular Torbay coast to Churston and through the wooded slopes bordering the Dart estuary to Kingswear. (22 miles)
Dartington Cider Press - A unique visitor centre with fifteen shops, eating places and workshops set in a village atmosphere. (25 Miles)
Shaldon Wildlfe Trust - Set in an acre of woodland garden above the attractive coastal village of Shaldon, we look after,and help preserve,some of the rarest and most endangered animals in the world. (14 miles)
Royal Albert Memorial Museum - Housed in a fabulous Victorian building, the museum contains 16 galleries hosting lively exhibitions, talks, workshops and talks. (5 miles)

National Aquarium - A fantastic day out for everyone, get up close to 1,000's of fish and even walk through the shark tank. (42 miles)

Towns and Villages

Exminster, the local village to the Farm. There are a number of shops and services in the village including a Tesco Local, doctor surgery, post office and general store. There are also 3 pubs, all serving food. (0.5 miles)
Exeter - A large city with a full range of shopping and eating out facilities. There also many places of interest to visit such as the Normal Cathedral and Castle, Medieval underground passages, the Guidhall and Museums. (5 miles)
Dawlish - A traditional seaside resort dating back to the 17th century. Now a popular destination with a large carnival in the summer featuring the Red Arrows. (5 miles)
English Riviera - Located on the south cost and stretching from Torquay to Brixham. A wide mix of attractions with good beaches and maritime character. (20 miles)
The South Hams - The rural southern most area of Devon with a dramatic coast line and scenery. The area is also dotted with fascinating towns such as Totnes, Dartmouth, Salcombe and Modbury. Loads to see and do in all weathers. (20 - 40 miles)
Chagford - Chagford is situated on the northern edge of the Dartmoor National Park. Chagford is a traditional moorland town, lying snugly in the shelter of a wooded hillside. With its collection of old stone buildings, cottages and fine 15th century church, Chagford is an ideal spot for the outdoor enthusiast. (28 miles)
Sidmouth - Famed for it's annual Folk festival and Beautiful gardens and leisurely walks, regency history and fine hotels, clean beaches and friendly shops.... it's all here in this lovely seaside town that nestles beneath majestic red cliffs and the green hills of the glorious Sid Valley (15 miles)

The Swans Nest, Exminster - Located less then a mile from the farm on the outskirts of the village. A large family orientated pub with a noted carvery. (1 mile)
Nobody Inn, Doddiscomsbleigh - 16th century inn with fantastic bar food and formal restaurant featuring local produce and a famous wine and whisky list that stretches into the 100's of listings. A personal favourite. (8 miles)
Diggers Rest, near Exeter - One of the new breed of gastro pubs but also retaining it's core rural pub features and feel. (7 miles)
The Oyster Shack, nr Kingsbridge- A novel approach, but one that works, alfresco dinning centered around excellent sea food. Well worth a visit. (35 miles)
Marchello Ristorante Italiano, Topsham - Great value and genuine italian. Good seafood and your hostess will have you laughing. Very child friendly. (3 miles)
Carved Angel Café, Exeter - Small relaxed restuarnt in the Cathhedral Close, good for light lunch or evening meal. Also excellent home made cakes for morning coffee (5 miles)
Anchor Inn, Cockwood - Great local fish pub. Good range of real ales and some of the best fish at a reasonable price on the south coast. (2 miles)
